Festival Région des Lumières: these 8 cities chosen to host the sound and light show this summer

The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region presented the 7th edition of the Région des Lumières festival on Wednesday, May 28. This summer, eight cities will host the sound and light show.
" The adventure continues ." This Wednesday, May 28, 2025, Fabrice Pannekoucke, President of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, presented the 7th edition of the Région des Lumières festival. This year again, the sound and light show, offered free of charge at nightfall, will set up camp in eight cities in the region.
Vienne, Firminy, Roanne, Valence, Saint-Martin-de-Belleville, Thonon-les-Bains, Montluçon, and Le Puy-en-Velay will host this show, which is fully funded by the Region. " Every year, this show is an opportunity to talk about the history of a place or its heritage, " says the President of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. Each show, unique and created by the Allumeurs de Rêves teams, will be presented for several consecutive weeks throughout the Region.
With a total budget of two million euros this year, the Festival Région des Lumières, which will be held again in December 2025 near the Fourvière Basilica , has already, since 2019, visited 42 different towns and delighted more than 3 million spectators throughout Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.

- Roanne (Loire) - Joseph-Déchelette Museum Garden: from June 28 to July 19, from nightfall to 11:30 p.m.
- Valence (Drôme) - Saint-Apollinaire Cathedral: from July 19 to August 22, from nightfall to 11:30 p.m.
- Saint-Martin-de-Belleville (Savoie) - Notre-Dame-de-la-Vie Sanctuary: from July 26 to August 17, from nightfall to 11:30 p.m.
- Thonon-les-Bains (Haute-Savoie) - Town Hall: from August 2 to 24, from nightfall to 11:30 p.m.
- Firminy (Loire) - Château des Bruneaux: from August 23 to September 14, from nightfall to 11 p.m.
- Montluçon (Allier) - Notre-Dame Church - MUPOP: from August 30 to September 21, from nightfall to 11:30 p.m.
- Le Puy-en-Velay (Haute-Loire) - Carmelite Church: from August 9 to 31, from nightfall to 11:30 p.m.
