In Saint-Maximin, an invitation to discover art during a stroll

A team (1) has been working hard since September to offer the third edition of "Balade au fil de l'art". Tomorrow, from 2:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., and on June 1st, from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., four outdoor locations, as many indoor locations and the Croisée des arts will be hosted by local artists and volunteers from associations.

This opening of gardens and artists' studios will offer the public the opportunity to have free access to culture, in various fields, with rare proximity.

All weekend long, it will be possible to discover exhibitions punctuated by interludes of singing, dancing, declaiming, reading... Just go to the forecourt of the Croisée des arts, to the exhibition hall, to the homes of Sylvie, Monique, Antoine Fabrickabul, Geneviève, Alejandro Choppelo, Patrick and Céline Aubert, Agnès de la Roncière, Régine de Bastiani, Emilie Berger-Begarie or Alain Baye.

Around sixty artists

In total, around sixty painters, sculptors, visual artists, founders, calligraphers, actors, comedians, storytellers, readers, reciters, dancers, violinists, guitarists, saxophonists, photographers, poets, etc. will take turns during this weekend.

Poet Rayen Kvyeh

Only one artist will be coming from abroad for the occasion: the poet Rayen Kvyeh. After the Eauditives and before the June 7 festivities in Tourves as part of the fight against the Mazaugues quarry, this Chilean will recite her poems on Saturday at 4:15 p.m. at 153 Boulevard Rey and on Sunday at noon at 14 Boulevard Jean-Jaurès, accompanied by music by Alejandro.

This woman, playwright, theatre director, the first poet to be published in a bilingual German/Mapudungun edition, translated into Spanish, Catalan, Basque and Italian, fights to recover the Mapuche forest territories, particularly against the installations of mining industries, multinationals eager to seize the riches of the subsoil.

Beyond the territory, she actively fights to preserve her language and culture. Imprisoned in Pinochet's exiled camps, she was freed by Amnesty International.

At 84, she takes advantage of each return to Chile to report on her time abroad to her people. Deeply involved with young people, she contributes through her communications to the shift currently being taken by the Mapuche, thus promoting, for example, greater openness to mixed marriages.

A Leetchi fundraising campaign for Rayen Kvyeh's European tour and the publication of the autonomous Mapuche cultural magazine she has directed for twenty years will soon be launched.
