"Come on, I'll take you far away..." Singer Santa, who sings Popcorn salé , will be the patron of the 2025 edition of the Téléthon. The charity event organized by the French Association against Muscular Dystrophy (AFM) and France Télévisions will take place on Friday, December 5 and Saturday, December 6. The former member of the group Hyphen Hyphen succeeds singer Mika, who oversaw the 38th edition.
"The Téléthon is a snub to life, that of turning predictions on their head, of transforming the incurable into progress, even into a cure," explains the singer, who has been seen a lot in recent months at festivals and on tour at the Zénith to promote her album Recommence-moi .
"I will give all my energy to ensure that this edition exceeds donation records," she says. In 2024, the Telethon raised more than 96.5 million euros , four million more than the previous year. In 2006, the amount of donations pledged reached a record, at nearly 106.7 million euros.
Four families will also be ambassadors for the initiative, representing children who are sick and carry rare genetic diseases. The event will, as it does every year, feature 30 hours of live coverage on France Télévisions. Nearly 280,000 volunteers will organize activities in 15,000 municipalities across France.
