Understand and enjoy the sea with the Passion Méditerranée festival in Cavalaire

Attention lovers of the Big Blue, the Passion Méditerranée Festival is back for its 3rd edition and promises to thrill enthusiasts.
Entertainment on land and on the water, punctuated by musical evenings with a rich program. From Friday to Sunday, starting at 9 a.m., meet at the Maison de la Mer, the Miramar Cinema, and the Esplanade Sainte Estelle.
" Whether you are passionate about sailing, curious to explore the maritime world or simply looking for excitement, the festival opens its doors wide to you ," invites Laura Taramaschi, from the events division of SPL Maures Évènements.
Great personalities to meet
Three days of exhibitions, conferences, meetings, music, entertainment, shopping and activities to showcase the nautical potential of Cavalaire.
This year, the Festival brings together big names such as Pierre Frolla, four-time world freediving champion, Marie-Pierre Jezegou, underwater archaeologist, Jean Mascle, former research director at the CNRS, Marion Moriceau, scuba diver, and guest of honor Henri Cosquer accompanied by Thierry Felix, prehistorian and cave diver, on the theme " The Cosquer Cave, a long-kept secret of the Mediterranean ."
Try out water activities
Throughout the weekend, various partners will be offering free or cost-free water sports. Participants can enjoy diving or hand-diving, paddleboarding and kayaking, sailing, or even a semi-submarine ride to observe the seabed. Not to mention boat trips to the Capes Sauvages or a visit to the Bonporteau marine trail.
The 2025 novelty
A live broadcast from the wreck of the Ramon located at the entrance to Port Héracléa, a weekend with two dive broadcasts commented by Florent Beau, nature photographer, on the Esplanade Sainte Estelle. A real moment of interaction where Philippe Cledon, underwater painter, will paint a canvas live on the water.
" We live in a place blessed with the beauty of wrecks and an extraordinary seabed. Showcasing this moment live is unique. Come one, come all! " the artist calls.
Underwater Music Competition
Sponsored by Éric Serra, composer of the music for the film The Big Blue , the underwater music competition that bears his name brought together more than 50 candidates. The five finalists invited to Cavalaire will unveil their works on Friday, during the Festival's opening night, starting at 8 p.m. on the Esplanade Sainte Estelle.
This competition, created by Christian Pétron, a famous director and director of photography, consists of enhancing a silent video clip by the director, illustrating freediving in a cave, with an original musical composition.
The grand winner will be named on Saturday and will receive a check for 1,000 euros!

Two lively evenings
Friday, starting at 8 p.m., after the underwater music competition nominees have been unveiled, it's time to celebrate with Inouï Océan. A committed show that showcases the fragility of the ocean through images projected onto a giant screen, enhanced by the melodic voice of Alexandra Hernandez.
On Saturday, after the announcement of the big winner of the competition, it's time for the tribute "ABBA For Ever" which includes the group's great international hits: Waterloo , SOS , Mamma Mia , Dancing Queen , Money Money Money , Knowing Me Knowing You , without forgetting a few surprises from ABBA's vast repertoire.
