Carditello Festival 2025 kicks off on July 3 with Gigi Finizio

The curtain rises on the Carditello Festival 2025, presented today at the Royal Palace of Naples, the musical festival that in the summer will animate the suggestive Galoppatoio del Real Sito di Carditello, the largest hippodrome in the world located within the perimeter of a royal residence. An important initiative that offers five live events, an opera and a symphonic concert, from Thursday 3 July to Thursday 4 September, integrating the cultural offer with evening visits to the Royal Apartment and the rich food and wine proposal of the Bourbon Palace. "The Carditello Festival - says Maurizio Maddaloni , president of the Fondazione Real Sito di Carditello - expresses and exalts the ambitions of the Real Sito, admitted in 2025 to the prestigious network of European royal residences. An event that promotes the inclusive value of music and accompanies the talent of numerous artists, thanks to the collaboration with the Luciano Pavarotti Foundation, the Piccolo Coro di Caivano and the Orchestra del Teatro di San Carlo. A notable commitment that the governance carries forward with dedication, passion and determination, with the aim of affirming Carditello as an ideal tourist destination and giving back to our community that sense of belonging and pride, too often denied in the past. The goal is to make our site known to a large audience through music and, for those who have already had the opportunity to visit it, to appreciate how much good has been done by our governance". The program, curated by the artistic director Antonello De Nicola , represents a hymn to the identity of Campania Felix. A great soundtrack, composed of musicians who have marked the history of Italian music and young beginners, encouraged by the Foundation in the path of artistic, educational and relational growth. Gigi Finizio will open the 2025 edition with the Live Tour (July 3). Second evening with Serena Rossi in “SereNata a Napoli” (July 17). Third appointment with Loredana Bertè and the “50 da Ribelle” tour (July 18). Also on the podium is the Piccolo Coro di Caivano (July 24), directed by Antonia Di Maio, born in 2024 from an initiative of Antoniano-Opere Francescane and the Ministry of Culture. A concert that is much more than a show, with the famous songs of the Zecchino d'Oro and more. In collaboration with the Luciano Pavarotti Foundation, which has granted moral patronage, the opera La Bohème (4 September) with the soloists who won the Cuore d'Oro International Competition, the “La Fleur” Orchestra , conducted by Giuseppe Aprea , the “ Chorus Cordis ” choir and the “ Voci Bianche ” choir. The Competition, with the support of the associations NovaNeapolis and Pomeriggio Musicale, has announced the winners - selected by a commission composed of experts in the lyric-symphonic world, chaired by Nicoletta Mantovani, wife of the unforgettable maestro Luciano Pavarotti - who will debut right in Carditello.
"The Carditello Festival - says Mariano Nuzzo , Superintendent of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for the Metropolitan Area of Naples and for the Provinces of Caserta and Benevento - has become, over the years, a virtuous model of cultural and social regeneration. In a place that for too long has represented the silence of abandonment, today new voices are heard: those of music, theater, civil reflection. The Royal Palace of Carditello thus reaffirms itself as a living stronghold of beauty, memory and active citizenship. As Superintendency, we renew our commitment alongside the Fondazione Real Sito di Carditello, sharing its vision of a culture that is not limited to protection, but becomes a tool for participation, inclusion and the future".
The festival, now in its sixth edition, celebrates the courage of the Real Sito di Carditello which – after having resisted the ravages of time and the scars of organized crime in the Land of Fires – is today a model of redemption and rebirth for the entire territory. The Carditello Festival 2025 is organized by the Fondazione Real Sito di Carditello, which benefits from the support of its members, the Ministry of Culture, the Campania Region and the Municipality of San Tammaro.
