The 45th edition of Antichi Organi , the musical festival that has touched numerous locations in the province of Varese and which since 1980 has offered a long and busy calendar of concerts on – precisely – the organs installed in churches and prestigious residences, kicks off from Castello Cabiaglio .
The artistic direction, curated by Dr. Mario Manzin and Professor Irene De Ruvo, has announced a high-level program for 2025 as well, with 30 concerts between July and October in which they will perform with 37 artists from 7 countries, in 25 different municipalities of the Varese area. The scheduled concerts will also involve recently restored instruments and will contribute to strengthening the link between music and the historical identity of the places that host them.
If Castello Cabiaglio will be the first stop – Friday 4th July at 9pm in the church of Sant'Appiano – this long “widespread concert” will end on 18th October , in Santa Maria Assunta in Gorla Maggiore.
The first appointment will feature Viviana Romoli: she will be entrusted with the Girolamo Carrera organ (opening photo) built between 1834 and 1835 which, since then, has accompanied the functions in the church of Castello Cabiaglio. The concert – free admission – will open with a piece by Büx followed by music by Bach, Mozart, Ponchielli and others.
The next appointments are for Friday 11 July in Maccagno with Pino and Veddasca (church of S. Martino in Campagnano) with Peter Waldner, Saturday 12 July at the Collegiate Church of San Vittore in Brezzo di Bedero (with Alessio Corti) and Sunday 13 in Cairate (church of Saints Antonio and Martino) with Marco Ruggeri and Lina Uinskyte.
