Life of uniformed services. In 2025, higher salaries and housing allowance up to PLN 1,800

Life of uniformed services. In 2025, higher salaries and housing allowance up to PLN 1,800

  • From 1 January 2025, all components of the remuneration of uniformed services officers will be increased by 5% in accordance with the indexation contained in the Budget Act.
  • Officers will receive salary adjustments for the period from 1 January 2025 at one time, after the legislative changes come into force.
  • Minister Tomasz Siemoniak announced the introduction of housing allowances for uniformed services, which are to be paid as early as July 2025.

The increase will also include specific allowances, such as maritime, aviation, capital, counter-terrorism, border, as well as allowances for officers who have the authority to conduct mine-laying and pyrotechnic activities or are involved in ensuring safety in air transport. However, in order for these changes to be implemented, changes to the regulations that are already in the legislative process will be necessary. The Independent Independent Trade Union of Border Guard Officers wrote on its website about what the upcoming regulation will look like.

Ministry of Interior and Administration officers to receive pay rises in 2025

All officers will receive a salary adjustment for the period from January 1, 2025, as soon as the changes to the regulations come into force. The new, higher salary amounts are to be paid at one time, meaning that officers will receive the increase in one transfer.

In addition, during a press conference on February 4, 2025, Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration Tomasz Siemoniak announced that in July 2025, officers of uniformed services will receive housing allowances for the first time. They were introduced in response to the rising costs of maintaining apartments, which have become one of the main reasons for leaving the police. The amount of the housing allowance will depend on the place of service and will range from PLN 900 to PLN 1,800.

In turn, Prime Minister Donald Tusk emphasized that the housing allowance for officers will equalize their status with professional soldiers, which is intended to improve the financial situation of officers and increase the number of people interested in serving. State authorities announce further steps in this area, and Tomasz Siemoniak noted that the housing allowance project is already being prepared and will be submitted quickly.

At the same time, Tusk announced that next year's budget will provide funds for a police modernization program, which aims to improve service conditions and provide adequate funds for the modernization of uniformed services in the country.
