Bebeto in Porto Alegre: the legacy of generations arrives at Samba de Rei this Sunday

Samba de Rei, the main platform for promoting black culture in the capital of Rio Grande do Sul, is hosting the recording of the show "Bebeto - The Legacy of Generations" this Sunday (14) at the traditional Clube Farrapos. The event, which combines music, memory and activism, promises to bring together samba artists, percussionists and passionate audiences in a grand celebration of the rhythm that pulses through Brazil's roots.

Since its inception five years ago, Samba de Rei has established itself as one of the largest cultural events in the South of the country, attracting over 2 million people per month on its social media channels and occupying a prominent place in Porto Alegre's artistic calendar. The project extends beyond the stage: it is an intergenerational meeting place where samba is presented as a link between stories, resistance, and social transformations.

The recording of "Bebeto - The Legacy of Generations" aims to document and disseminate the career of Bebeto, one of the leading names in Rio Grande do Sul samba, whose work spans decades and inspires new voices. The production, open to the public, will feature participation by drum majors, special guests, and interventions by poets and activists involved in the promotion of racial equality.

Organizers emphasize that Samba de Rei not only celebrates the notes and verses of samba, but also reinforces their commitment to the diversity of genres, ethnicities, and histories. "We want everyone to feel welcomed and represented, regardless of their background or musical orientation," emphasizes event curator Juliana Santos. In addition to the music, there will be discussion groups and parallel activities focused on strengthening Black identity.

Clube Farrapos, one of Porto Alegre's most traditional samba clubs, opens its doors at 4 p.m. A diverse crowd is expected, bringing together admirers of all ages and backgrounds. Admission is free, with a donation of one kilo of non-perishable food, which will be donated to local social institutions.

With the recording of "Bebeto - O Legado de Gerações", Samba de Rei reaffirms its mission of promoting samba as an instrument of celebration, inclusion and social transformation, perpetuating the memory and voice of those who built and build the history of Brazilian rhythm.
