Bragança GNR arrests 22-year-old man

A 22-year-old man was arrested by the Research and Support Unit for Specific Victims (NIAVE), of the GNR of Bragança, on suspicion of the crime of domestic violence, in the municipality of Mirandela, that police force reported this Saturday.

The suspect, who has already been heard at the Bragança Judicial Court, was prohibited from contacting the victim, his partner, aged 20, by any means or through intermediaries and from approaching the residence, workplace and other places frequented by the victim, within a radius of 300 metres, through control by electronic bracelet.

In a statement, the GNR clarifies that as part of an investigation, the military found that the suspect exercised “psychological, verbal and physical violence” against the victim.

Following the action, an arrest warrant was served. The GNR reminds that domestic violence is a public crime and reporting it is a collective responsibility.
