Harry and Meghan renew their contract with Netflix

Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, renewed their production company Archewell Productions' contract with Netflix last Monday (11).

According to Variety, the deal with the streaming giant was due to expire in September but has been extended. The exact duration and amount involved were not disclosed.

However, unlike the previous partnership, in which Netflix had exclusivity over the couple's productions, the platform will now have the right to approve or reject a project before their production company can offer it to other studios.

The previous contract, signed shortly after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex publicly announced they would step down as members of the British royal family, was estimated to be worth $100 million and last for five years.

Harry and Meghan, who live in the United States, have been working with Netflix since 2020. The two produced the documentary "Harry & Meghan" and the lifestyle series "With Love, Meghan," the second season of which will air in late August. A Christmas special is also scheduled for December.
