Real Madrid sign centre-back Dean Huijsen

Spanish international footballer Dean Huijsen , of Dutch origin, has joined Real Madrid for the next five seasons, until June 30, 2030, the 'merengue' club announced this Saturday.

“Real Madrid CF and AFC Bournemouth have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Dean Huijsen, who has signed a contract with our club for the next five seasons, from 1 June 2025 until 30 June 2030,” the club said.

Spanish newspapers speak of a payment of 59 million euros for the player's transfer.

Dean Huijsen, 20, who is already a Spain international, made 34 appearances for Bournemouth this season, scoring three goals, in what was his debut season in the Premier League.

The central defender, who was trained at Málaga and played for the youth team, was also a junior at Juventus, a club where he played a game for the first team, and also played for Roma in 2023/24, on loan from the 'vecchia signora'.

Huijsen is among the nominees for the 2024/2025 Premier League Young Player of the Year award.
