More than 10 million voters are called to the polls this Sunday for the legislative elections, with the aim of choosing the 230 deputies who will make up the Assembly of the Republic - and which should also determine the decision on the political force invited to form the Government.

Do you know where to vote? And until what time can you exercise your right to vote? Do you know which political forces you will find on your ballot paper? Observador provides here a set of useful information for this day.

Where to vote?

Each voter is assigned to a specific polling station, with polling stations located in public buildings such as schools or pavilions. There are two very easy ways to find out exactly where you will vote:

• Access the electoral registration portal and enter your identity card or citizen card number and your date of birth, in the format YYYYMMDD. The portal will return the address of your polling station and your particular polling station.
• Send an SMS to the number 3838 with the following message: “RE [space] ID/Citizen Card number [space] date of birth [writing the date in this format: YYYYMMDD]”. Example message: “ RE 12345678 19901510 “.

Polls opened at 8am and will remain open until 7pm. The first results will be announced at 8pm in Lisbon, as it is necessary to wait until polls close in the Azores.

What will I find on the ballot paper?

Depending on the electoral district where you vote, your ballot paper will be different, since political parties do not necessarily stand as candidates in all electoral districts and the order of candidates is not the same in all districts.
