Spanish artist debuts exhibition in Ílhavo

The Nuno Sacramento Contemporary Art Gallery in Ílhavo will open “A Bigger Splash” today at 5:30 pm, an exhibition by Sandra Rojo Picón. Known for her expertise in women’s clothing, the Spanish artist will be presenting her solo work in Portugal for the first time, inspired by David Hockney, a British painter and set designer.
Art as a support for creativity From today until June 17, the period during which the exhibition will be on display, the Spanish artist aims to share memories of her childhood, spent “at my grandparents’ house”, where the greatest bond between family members was the swimming pool, she said. With free admission, visitors will have the opportunity to contemplate works in which the water element predominates, under infinite intersections of light and geometric, abstract and dynamic compositions.
