'The first week's concerts at the 32nd Istanbul Jazz Festival

The "32nd Istanbul Jazz Festival", organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) with the sponsorship of Garanti BBVA, will meet art lovers at different points of the city until July 17. World-famous names will be on stage in the first week of the festival, which will be held at the Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open Air Stage, the French Palace, Swissotel and Esma Sultan Mansion.

At the opening concert to be given on July 1st (tomorrow) at the Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open Air Theater, one of the most influential names in Afro-Cuban jazz, Cuban pianist, composer and arranger Chucho Valdes, will meet the audience with the Chucho Valdes Royal Quartet . 7-time Grammy award winner Valdes will be accompanied by Horacio "El Negro" Hernandez on drums, Jose A. Gola on bass guitar and Roberto Jr. Vizcaino on percussion.

The festival will host three successful names on its second day. The Hermanos Gutierrez music group will give a concert on July 2, while French jazz pianist Gregory Privat and Turkish trumpeter Tolga Bilgin will give a concert at the French Palace on July 4.

Max Richter , who brought his music to productions such as Shutter Island, Arrival, The Last of Us, The Leftovers, and Black Mirror, will be in Istanbul for the first time as part of the festival. The famous musician, composer, and pianist Richter, who opened a new era with the bridges he built between electronic music and contemporary classical music, will meet his fans at the Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open Air Stage on July 3.

On July 5, music lovers will experience an Italian evening in the garden of the Italian Consulate General. The night will begin with the Hakan Başar Trio , with the participation of young Italian musician Michelangelo Scandroglio , and continue with Chiara Civello , who is considered one of the best voices of her generation.

Known for her wide range of vocal styles and innovative compositions, three-time Grammy-nominated musician Jazzmeia Horn will be on stage at Swissotel on July 7, while Grammy-winning American artist Meshell Ndegeocello, who straddles genres with her rebellious and innovative style, will be on stage at Swissotel on July 8.
