People of Beykoz gathered at the Corn Festival
Küçüksu Meadow once again became a meeting point for the Corn Festival, organized by the Beykoz Municipality. Thousands of Beykoz residents and Istanbulites attended the event, which featured corn treats, children's shows, DJ performances, and a concert by Ekin Uzunlar, the powerful voice of Black Sea music.
At the festival, participants were served corn supplied by local producers.
The event was attended by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Agricultural Services Department Head Ahmet Atalık, Beykoz Deputy Mayors, Municipal Council Members, muhtars, NGO and sports club representatives, and thousands of citizens.
Addressing the people of Beykoz at the festival, Deputy Mayor Özlem Vural Gürzel emphasized the district's fertile lands, saying, "Beykoz corn is a delicious heritage whose aroma reminds us of our childhood, enlivens summer evenings, and symbolizes the fertility of this land. It is our duty to not only keep this tradition alive but also to carry it into the future."
Emphasizing the support given to Beykoz producers, Gürzel said, "As the Beykoz Municipality, we stood by our producers this year as well; we supported their labor throughout the process, from farm to table. We took important steps to bring smiles to the faces of our farmers and strengthen their production culture."
Gürzel thanked CHP presidential candidate and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and Beykoz Mayor Alaattin Köseler, who are currently imprisoned in Silivri. He said, "I extend my gratitude to our Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu, for supporting us in these efforts, and to our Mayor, Mr. Alaattin Köseler, for his efforts to keep agriculture, production, and local values alive in Beykoz. I also thank the producers who made this beautiful day possible, our team members who contributed to the organization, and you, my valued fellow citizens, who filled the area with joy."
CISHKU REACHED ITS SUMMIT WITH EKİN UZUNLARSinger Ekin Uzunlar, who took the stage at the festival's finale, brought the excitement to a peak with her performance at Küçüksu Meadow. She performed hits like "Hüzün Gemileri," "Son Bir Kez" (One Last Time), and "Geliyorum Yar."
