Directed by Aslı Atasoy and returning with Best Documentary awards from the Stockholm City and Valencia Indie Film Festivals, The Book's Dream will meet the audience on Thursday, October 30th as part of the 62nd International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival.

The film, directed by journalist and director Aslı Atasoy, focuses on book covers, specifically focusing on Birol Bayram, the world's most prolific book cover designer.

The Book's Dream, which will compete in the National Documentary Competition, won the Best Documentary Award at the Stockholm City Film Festival and the Valencia Indie Film Festival (VALÈIFF) in recent weeks.

Participation in the screening in Valencia was made possible with the support of the General Directorate of Cinema of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey.

Journalist and director Aslı Atasoy

Aslı Atasoy combines the observational power of journalism with the language of cinema. "The Book's Dream" centers on the 26-year creative journey of Birol Bayram, one of Türkiye's most prolific cover designers. It begins with an artist's personal journey and reaches into the visual memory of literature through book covers.

The story of approximately 6,000 book covers makes visible how a silent production finds an echo in cultural memory.

Aslı Atasoy's aesthetic and questioning approach, born from her identity as an independent journalist, takes the film beyond being a portrait into a conceptual field about design and memory.

In the Book's Dream, important names of our art world, Zeynep Atakan, Ahmet Ümit, Gürbüz Doğan Ekşioğlu, Yekta Kopan, Horasan, Sevengül Sönmez, Selçuk Altun, Tibet Sanlıman and Gamze Varım, are included with their opinions.
