The 5th Izmir Film and Music Festival, directed by BirGün writer Vecdi Sayar , concluded with an awards ceremony held at the French Cultural Center. Hosted by Meltem Cumbul, the evening saw French director Gregory Magne's film "The Musicians" receive two awards. The jury, evaluating the films in the festival's International Competition, awarded "The Musicians" Best Film, "Kneecap" Best Music, and "Köln 75" the Special Jury Prize.

The "Musicians" also received the Audience Jury's award. Honorary Awards were presented to Derya Köroğlu, founders of the Yeni Türkü group, and Selim Atakan. In the "Music of Our Cinema" section, the Best Music Award went to Ozan Tekin for his music for Türker Süer's "Gecenin Kıyısı" (The Edge of Night); and the Special Jury Award went to Gürcan Keltek and Murat Gültekin for their sound design for "Yeni Şafak Sökerken."

The Youth Jury selected Nehir Tuna's "Yurt" (Homeland) as the Best First Film. In the Television Series Music section, Aytuğ Yargı, who composed the music for "Eşref Rüya," and Sertaç Özgümüş and Çağlar Haznedaroğlu, who composed the music for "Şakir Paşa - Miracles and Scandals," were awarded the award.
