Why Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Are Cherishing ‘This Sliver of Time They Have All to Themselves’

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have spent the last month almost completely out of the public eye. It has been a much-needed break for them, a source told Page Six, but they know it will end “eventually” as they return to their public-facing careers.

The downtime “has been so refreshing for Taylor and Travis,” the insider said, calling it a “nice escape” for the couple who has been in the spotlight for almost their entire nearly two-year relationship. “They really cherish this time while they can because they know it can’t last forever. [They’ve] able to feel a bit of normalcy for the first time in a long time.”

Kelce has Kansas City Chiefs training camp in the summer, so they are making the most of this “sliver of time they have all to themselves,” the source said. Swift has found laying low to be especially “refreshing” because “fans have known her every step, particularly for the last two years since she’s been on her Eras Tour.”

Swift ended her Eras Tour in December. Kelce finished his NFL season in February.

While the couple has been on multiple trips, “a lot of their time is spent at home just relaxing,” the source said. “Despite their fame, they’re really just like any other couple. They like to cuddle on the couch and watch movies, play board games, spend time with family, cook dinner together, and just hang out.”

Earlier this week, a source spoke to Us Weekly about why Swift and Kelce might maintain a little more privacy going forward.

“Taylor and Travis have learned that so much attention on their relationship is not the best thing,” the source said. “Travis wants to take [a breather] from the public eye. He was working too much last year, and he didn’t play as well as he wanted. He wants to have a good season and not have the focus be on his relationship with Taylor.”

A second source revealed the couple has been going on mini trips and entertaining at Swift’s Nashville and New York City homes. The insider confirmed that Swift and Kelce have been spending time with their families and watching movies. “Just doing nothing at all has been a dream of theirs for a while,” the source said.
