Who is Vanessa Pulgarín, Miss Antioquia, who was crowned Miss Universe Colombia 2025?

Vanessa Pulgarín Monsalve was born on September 13, 1991, in Medellín, Antioquia, and from a very young age, she oriented her life toward modeling, communication, and social leadership.

Raised in a traditional Paisa family, she grew up between Medellín and its surrounding municipalities, in a homely environment that allowed her to develop skills that she uses today in her journey as a queen.

Currently, she is studying Social Communication and Journalism at the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana , a degree that—as she has expressed in several interviews—has allowed her to understand the power of words in the processes of social transformation.

Pulgarín has stated that her goal is not just to walk the runway; she wants to leverage her visibility to promote causes related to education, sports, and emotional health.

The night of her coronation as Miss Universe Colombia 2025 marked the return of an Antioquian to the highest national beauty title.

The competition, produced in a televised format with communication and leadership tests, evaluated not only poise and catwalk performance, but also speaking ability and stage presence. Pulgarín stood out for his confident delivery, especially during the question and answer session, where he emphasized the responsible use of social media influence.

When asked about the difference between a viral figure and a truly influential figure on social media, Pulgarín responded with a message focused on responsibility and the purpose behind public exposure.

In his words: "I think the most important thing is to use our social media, our virality, to inspire other people. For example, I inspire through sports and a healthy lifestyle. I think it's very important to tell people, to give them love, to show them that there's a little bit more than entertainment, to someone close to us who wants to help, who wants to do something to save the world, to help bring much more love, much more peace, much more awareness to all human beings."
