The 20th edition of the Lyon BD Festival will take place this weekend in Lyon.
The 20th edition of the Lyon BD Festival will be held from June 13 to 15 at Lyon City Hall.
On June 13, 14, and 15, the Lyon Comics Festival will take over the halls of Lyon City Hall for its 20th edition, dedicated to foreign comics. " This year, we are renewing ties with our friends at the Quebec City festival, while continuing our friendly collaboration with the Curitiba Biennial in Brazil. This year, we are also offering opportunities to meet authors from Lebanon, Beirut, and elsewhere ," the festival organizers say.
As usual, with the exception of a few workshops and activities, all events are free. Several exhibitions, for example, will be held, including two at the Hôtel de Ville on June 14 and 15. Roundtable discussions will also be held Saturday afternoon at the Opéra Underground and Fnac Bellecour. On Friday, June 13, the evening of this year's opening, a jury of experts will present the festival's prize to recognize the most outstanding comic book of the year.
To celebrate its 20th anniversary, the festival is organizing a large raffle with 50 prizes up for grabs, including graphics tablets, signed comics, and screen-printed posters. The full program can be found on the Lyon BD Festival website .
