From Verdi to Battiato. Great music in small towns.

Il Grande in Provincia brings instrumental and vocal music to Nave and Sale Marasino . This summer festival, which brings the music of the city's premier theater to the province's towns, allows audiences to hear some of the most sophisticated compositions written for string instruments and voice, immersing themselves in the enchantment of music.
On Tuesday, at 9:00 PM, the San Cesario Complex in the municipality of Nave will host the Teatro Grande Ensemble as a string duo. Daniele Richiedei on violin and Virginia Luca on viola will envelop the medieval site, built on the ruins of an ancient Roman building, with a diverse repertoire: from great classics such as Bach's Inventions for Two Voices, to pieces by 20th-century composers Jean Sibelius and the lesser-performed Bohuslav Martinu, including Franco Battiato's unique Martyre Celeste.
On Friday, again at 9 pm, the festival will move to Sale Marasino, specifically to the former Church of San Pietro dei Disciplini. With a history spanning over six centuries (its foundation dates back to 1400), it now houses the Civic Museum and preserves an impressive fresco display attributed to the Renaissance painter Orazio De Rossi. The former Church of San Pietro dei Disciplini will host an opera recital featuring soprano Mariapaola Di Carlo and Chilean-born tenor Cristobal Campos Marin , accompanied on the piano by Maestro Giulio Amerigo Galibariggi . The program will focus on arias and duets from famous Verdi and Puccini operas, as well as two operatic tragedies: Romeo et Juliette by Charles Gounod and Lucia di Lammermoor by Gaetano Donizetti.
All events in the festival are free. Admission to the concert in the Municipality of Nave is free, subject to availability, and is from Via San Cesario, 34. Admission to the concert in Sale Marasino is also free, subject to availability, and is from Via Roma, 43.
