A new artistic season at the Mieczysław Karłowicz Philharmonic will begin at the end of September. Visitors to this important Szczecin institution can expect numerous musical attractions, well-known and beloved concert series, and new offerings at the highest world level.

The program of events for the coming months was presented at a press conference on Thursday, September 25. It was attended by the Philharmonic's director, Przemysław Neumann, the city's deputy mayor, Michał Przepiera, the Philharmonic's deputy director, Magdalena Wilento, the head of the educational events department, Mateusz Czarnowski, and representatives of the institution's partners.

"Tomorrow we officially begin the 78th season at the Philharmonic. It's an important season for me, as it's my second season here at the institution, but it's actually the first in terms of being able to fully commit to the entire season. Everything that happens here has its own significance. The importance, the significance, and the interest from people who want to buy tickets to our events are clear proof of that. As for the Friday symphony concerts, we have a plethora of guests from both the world and Poland. Truly world-class," encouraged the Philharmonic's director, Przemysław Neumann. "As for the conductors, we'll have Christoph König, Ken-David Masur, son of the famous Kurt Masur. We'll have Ruben Gazarian, Aleksandre Bloch, a brilliant conductor." There will finally be female conductors, as it's a tradition at the Szczecin Philharmonic to hold the FilHERmonia series in October, where we emphasize giving women a voice, space, and a place on our stage. There will be two winners of the La Maestra competition – an international competition, the only one in the world organized exclusively for female conductors. One of these editions was won by Bar Avni, who will be with us in October. The next edition was won by our excellent young Polish conductor, Anna Sułkowska-Migoń. She will also be appearing. She will also be well-known, having worked with the orchestra in Szczecin several years ago as its artistic director, Ewa Strusińska.

The new season begins today (Friday, October 16) with a cello concerto by Antonin Dvořák and Pyotr Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6. There will also be concerts in the FilHERmonia series, featuring women. Throughout the season, Philharmonic guests will have the opportunity to hear compositions by such classics as Richard Strauss, Tchaikovsky, Frédéric Chopin (one of the laureates of the 19th Chopin Competition will perform), Franz Liszt, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Hector Berlioz, and many others performed by distinguished contemporary musicians and the Mieczysław Karłowicz Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. The Presidential Concert will also be held on January 9, 10, and 11, 2026, conducted by Artur Andrus. The artistic season will conclude on June 12 and 16, 2026, with Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 3 in D minor. The Szczecin Boys' Choir "Słowiki" and the female members of the Szczecin Maritime University of Technology Choir will perform. The Philharmonic's program also includes symphonic concerts. Chamber music concerts will also be featured, including the Polish Music Stage series, and many other events with guest appearances.

The Philharmonic also invites you to more "entertaining" concerts. Dikanda and the Orchestra will perform, along with a concert titled "Młynarski. Byłego" (Młynarski. Byłego), and "Nie(WO)men" featuring works by Czesław Niemen. Music lovers will also have the opportunity to listen to performers from around the world and jazz concerts.

The Philharmonic also hosts educational events for the youngest music lovers. EduFilharmonia events include the Young Music Lover's Academy, In the Secret Music Lovers' Club: Secrets of the Philharmonic, Musical Treasure Island, School Concerts, and many more.

The new season will also feature unique exhibitions featuring works by renowned artists. Starting Thursday (September 25th), Olga Iwanow's "Artists" and Dominika Głowala's "Dowry" will be on display. In November, we'll also see photographs by Tomasz Lazar, in February, works by Łukasz Skąpski, and in May, the 4th edition of the Haunting for Painting festival.

Tickets are available at the Philharmonic box office, ticket machines, and online at filharmonia.szczecin.pl. The full schedule of events is also available there. ©℗
