Indoctrination at the ZPAF Gallery

How many of us, walking around the city, pay attention to the signals sent to us from anonymous places that are, in reality, the world's control centers? We pass these messages by indifferently, because they have become so ingrained in our everyday lives. How many read these signals and are able to pass them on? Few. Ohrim Sergei is certainly among them.

Ohrim Sergey is the pseudonym of an artist who was born and raised in Rokytne, Ukraine, in the Polesie region. He studied psychology in Rivne. In 2016, he emigrated to Poland and settled permanently in Szczecin.
Here he works and pursues his hobby of photography. He is a member of the Szczecin Photographic Society, where he encountered such masters of the lens as Zbigniew Wróblewski, Andrzej "Graba" Grabowiecki, Janusz Szałański, Jacek Fijałkowski, and Sergiusz Sachno. He claims that it was they who taught him a different perspective on the world around him and the ability to notice imponderables.
He presents the result of his skills in his second solo exhibition this year. The exhibition revolves around three main themes: religion, antennas, and mannequins. The artist intended the entire work to be an element of brainwashing. And that's precisely the title of the exhibition: Indoctrination.
The works presented are deliberately rendered in black and white—these seem to be the artist's favorite colors. Ohrim Sergey extracts various stimuli from the urban chaos and arranges them into a logical whole, compelling the viewer to take a broader look at the world around them. The photographs are enhanced by quotes corresponding to the exhibition's title.
The exhibition entitled "Indoctrination" can be viewed at the ZPAF Gallery located at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the West Pomeranian University of Technology, at 26 Kwietnia 10 in Szczecin.
