Lego will appreciate another Pole. An outstanding figure, although not all compatriots remember him

Lego will appreciate another Pole. An outstanding figure, although not all compatriots remember him

Poles built from blocks are rather rare. So far, only Maria Skłodowska-Curie has found its way into an official Lego set, but this may change soon. All thanks to an interesting proposal within the Lego Ideas program.

Remember the Evolution of Science set that won the LEGO Ideas Celebrate the Wonder of STEM competition? The set featured minifigures of Isaac Newton , George Washington Carver , and Polish Nobel Prize winner Maria Skłodowska-Curie .

It looks like another important figure in Polish history has a chance to enter the world of blocks!

It is about the figure of Ignacy Łukasiewicz , an entrepreneur and pharmacist, as well as a pioneer of the oil industry in Europe . Łukasiewicz not only invented the kerosene lamp , but also founded the world's first oil mine .

Ignacy Łukasiewicz from Lego bricks?

Submitted by two constructors, Zuzanna "Fanka Klocków" and Michał "Artoozy Builds" , the project presenting Ignacy Łukasiewicz's pharmacy is already gaining popularity on the Lego Ideas website.

Let's recall that this is a platform where fans can submit their own ideas for sets. Those proposals that gain at least 10 thousand votes from the community are then sent to Lego specialists, who assess whether the project is suitable for store shelves. The best ideas are actually introduced to the market.

Zuzanna and Michał's project has almost 5 thousand votes at the time of writing this article, so... there's still a chance!

Ignacy Łukasiewicz: A figure who still inspires Poles

The creators emphasize that Ignacy Łukasiewicz's achievements made him one of the most remembered figures in Polish history , who still inspires many people to pursue their own goals.

- Now you can finally pay tribute to this famous inventor by recreating his iconic pharmacy that was historically located on the market square in Jasło, Poland . It is presented in black and white - symbolizing the passage of time, but also the fact that Łukasiewicz is still remembered by the scientific community and his invention is still used after all these years! - we read in the project description.

The model includes details such as scales , vials, a cash register and of course a minifigure of Łukasiewicz himself. It looks really good, so we keep our fingers crossed for Polish builders and the Polish set!
