Indonesian army officers will undergo an intensive course in Russian language learning. The training will begin this summer, Rossotrudnichestvo representative in Jakarta Nikita Shilikov said, RIA Novosti reports.
According to him, such agreements were reached between the Ministry of Defense of the Republic and the Russian House in Indonesia. The agreement was concluded during a bilateral meeting.
“The key outcome of the meeting was the agreement to launch an intensive Russian language course for officers of the Indonesian armed forces in June 2025,” Shilikov noted.
The course is specially adapted for military specialists. This, according to the agency's interlocutor, is necessary for "developing professional communication and strengthening strategic partnership" between the two countries. During the meeting, the parties noted the need to expand humanitarian cooperation.
Shilikov said that the issue of increasing the number of Russian language teachers is currently being resolved. The bilateral efforts will help erase the barriers between the two nations. And he expressed joy that Indonesian military personnel will soon begin to communicate in Russian.
