Çal Grape Harvest Festival: Culture, art and viticulture all together

The 28th Çal Grape Harvest Culture and Art Festival, held for the first time on an international scale this year in the Çal district of Denizli , continued with intense participation on its second day.
Jurgis Vilcinska, Deputy Head of the European Union Delegation to Turkey, along with numerous guests from the worlds of journalists, actors, fashion, and television, attended the event. Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Secretary-General Bülent Bozbaş accompanied the guests.
The program began with the "Grape Harvest: Respect for the Cycle of Nature" event held in the vineyards in the morning. Participants participated in the grape harvest by cutting grapes in baskets and received information about grape production and wine making.
A JOURNEY FROM CULTURAL HERITAGE TO WINERIESThe "Our Shared Cultural Heritage" photography exhibition, organized by the Delegation of the European Union to Turkey, was one of the festival's special events. Following the exhibition, participants toured the Kuzubağ Winery and observed the production processes firsthand. At noon, visitors were shown pottery making during the "Craft Route - Encountering the Earth" workshop held at the Küp Atölye.
ÇAL'S LOCAL TASTES BECAME THE FOCUSCultural stands were set up as part of the festival . Displaying a wide variety of products, from handmade jewelry to paintings, guests were able to experience the region's cultural diversity firsthand. Guests were also treated to dishes unique to the Çal region, where they were able to experience the richness of the local cuisine.
In the afternoon, a lecture on Çal Bağ Yolu (The Çal Vineyard Road) and wine tasting took place in Lermonos. An exhibition space opened at the historic Selcen Winery, welcoming art lovers, while a wine-based dinner was held at Erdel Winery. Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu and Denizli Chamber of Industry President Selim Kasapoğlu also attended the dinner, and the day's finale took place at Kuzubağ. The concert, titled "Cultural Heritage Meeting," featured performances from the Uğur Güneş Quartet and Sibel Köse.
Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu, speaking at the event, said, “We are delighted to welcome our guests to our city. We have achieved a wonderful union together. I would like to thank all the businesses that contributed to the 'Vine Road' process. Denizli is a city that can serve as an example to the world in every sense. We believe Çal can become a global brand. Both Çal Municipality and Denizli Metropolitan Municipality will further develop this journey. Our guests have energized us with their positive energy.”
