Mariah Carey performs in Belém on the eve of COP30

American star Mariah Carey performed on Wednesday night (17) in Belém, Pará, in support of environmental protection initiatives, on the eve of COP30, which will be held in the city in November.
"We're here tonight to raise awareness about preserving the rainforest," said the pop diva as she opened the "Amazonia Live" show, right after starting the performance with the song "My All."
The spectacle took place on a 13-ton floating platform shaped like a Victoria Regia, mounted on the Guamá River, and marked the beginning of the countdown to the conference, which is expected to bring together thousands of government representatives and activists from around the world.
The floating structure included a private elevator and a dressing room that was reportedly used by Mariah Carey after arriving in Pará on Tuesday (16), coming from São Paulo, where she performed at The Town festival.
The show in the capital of Pará is part of a series of events to draw national and international public attention to the impacts of the environmental crisis and the need for urgent action to preserve the Amazon, the largest tropical forest in the world.
Earlier, the stage made of Victoria Regia, a plant typical of the Amazon region, welcomed singers from Pará Gaby Amarantos, Zaynara and Joelma and Dona Odete.
