World Tourism Day is celebrated in Loulé, focusing on the municipality's cultural wealth

Loulé City Council joins the celebrations of World Tourism Day, which takes place on September 27th, with a series of initiatives aimed at the local community, visitors and tourism agents.
The program begins on September 24th, with a guided tour of the Historic Center of Loulé, aimed at the municipality's hotels, which are essential in promoting the region's heritage, cultural and natural wealth.
On September 25th and 26th, starting at 10:00 am, the general public will be able to participate in guided tours of the Historic Center: on the 25th in Portuguese, and on the 26th in English, allowing different audiences to learn about the city's heritage.
On September 27th, the celebrations will be dedicated to the Loulé Criativo project, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.
To mark the occasion, an "Open Day" will be held, with a program of free activities that include creative tourism experiences and demonstrations of traditional arts and crafts—such as pottery, copper, palm weaving, esparto and cane work, hand weaving, sewing, among others.
At 12:30 p.m., the public will also be offered a tasting of xerém, one of the most emblematic dishes of traditional Algarve cuisine. It will be a unique opportunity for the public to experience ancestral knowledge and interact firsthand with the local creative community.
The World Day celebrations end in Loulé on September 27th, at 6 pm, in the Auditorium of Solar da Música Nova, with the presentation of the book «TEMPO NO TEMPO – No Quarteirão Cultural de Loulé», written by the VMSA ARQUITECTOS office, a record of the evolution and importance of this cultural space in the city.
On this day, the Loulé Municipal Museum , one of the attractions that attracts the most interest from tourists visiting the city, will have free entry.
With this program, the municipality of Loulé "reaffirms its commitment to promoting heritage, promoting cultural and creative tourism, and strengthening connections between visitors and the local community, consolidating this region's role as one of the country's and Europe's top destinations," the municipality notes.
